1

Download & Set Up HeatFi

HeatFi is available exclusively on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. It requires iOS 16.0 or later. Download is free — no account required to get started.

💡 Tip HeatFi works entirely on-device. No sign-up, no cloud upload, no subscription. Your floor plans and scan data stay on your iPhone.
2

Create a New Project

Each project represents a physical space — an office floor, an apartment, a warehouse, etc. You can have as many projects as you like.

3

Import or Draw Your Floor Plan

A floor plan is the canvas your heatmap is drawn on. HeatFi gives you two flexible options:

💡 Pro tip A photo of a printed floor plan works perfectly. Make sure the image is well-lit and the walls are clearly visible for best results.
4

Walk & Scan Your Space

This is where the magic happens. HeatFi measures WiFi signal strength (RSSI) as you walk around, then pins each reading to your position on the map.

💡 Best results Scan during normal operating hours when all your usual WiFi devices are active. This gives you the most realistic picture of your network performance.
5

Read Your Heatmap

HeatFi visualizes signal strength using a color gradient overlaid on your floor plan. Here's how to interpret it:

6

Export & Share

HeatFi lets you export your heatmap as a high-resolution PDF or image — ready to share with clients, IT teams, or landlords.

💡 Professional tip Run a second scan after repositioning your router or adding a mesh node, then compare the two heatmaps side by side to measure the improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — HeatFi is free to download from the App Store. Core scanning and heatmap features are available at no cost.
HeatFi measures signal strength for the WiFi network your iPhone is currently connected to. It supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on any standard router or mesh system.
No. HeatFi works entirely offline. All scanning, heatmap generation, and export happen on your device. An internet connection is only needed to download the app.
HeatFi uses your iPhone's built-in WiFi chipset to measure RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) values. Accuracy depends on scan density — the more location pins you drop during a scan, the more precise the heatmap interpolation will be.
Currently, HeatFi is available for iPhone and iPad only. An Android version may be considered in the future based on user demand.
There's no hard limit on space size. HeatFi has been used to map everything from single rooms to multi-floor office buildings. For very large spaces, we recommend breaking the area into multiple projects or scan sessions.
HeatFi does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All your floor plans, scan data, and heatmaps remain on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
