Your Scans Stay on Your Device

1. Who We Are

HeatFi ("we", "our", or "us") is an Android and iOS application for creating WiFi heatmaps. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use HeatFi, why it is used, the third-party services involved, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

HeatFi's core survey and heatmap functionality operates on-device. We do not operate a HeatFi backend that receives your floor plans, project content, measurements, or precise location.

Project data processed locally on your device:

• Floor plan images you import or draw
• WiFi measurements, including raw signal strength (RSSI) readings
• Points you place on a floor plan to show where a measurement was taken
• Project names and settings you configure

Optional analytics data: On Android, HeatFi uses Firebase Analytics only after you choose to allow anonymous usage measurement. This may include app and screen activity, general device and app information, session duration, project creation and survey counts, measurement counts, heatmap metric selections, export outcomes, paywall views and actions, purchase or restore outcomes, and rewarded-ad outcomes. Our custom analytics events do not include project names, floor plan images, WiFi network names, measurement coordinates, or raw signal readings. Google may process identifiers and other information as described in its documentation.

Advertising data: The free Android version uses Google AdMob to provide rewarded and native ads. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and the type of ad served, Google may process data such as IP address, advertising or app identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostic information, and approximate location inferred from IP address. HeatFi Pro removes ads.

Purchase and subscription data: If you purchase, restore, or manage HeatFi Pro, RevenueCat and the applicable app store process an anonymous app user identifier, product and entitlement information, purchase status, and transaction information needed to validate the purchase and unlock Pro features. HeatFi does not receive your full payment-card details.

3. Location Data

Android may require Location or Nearby WiFi permission for HeatFi to access WiFi information and perform scans. HeatFi does not use these permissions to track your movement. Positions within a floor plan are points that you place manually; they are not your GPS location. On supported iOS functionality, any location-related information used by a project remains on the device.

Location-related project data:

• Is used only during active scanning sessions
• Is stored locally on your device as part of your project data
• Is not included in HeatFi's custom analytics events
• Can be deleted at any time by deleting the associated project

You can change app permissions at any time in your device's system settings. Some WiFi scanning features may not work without the required permission.

4. WiFi Information

HeatFi reads WiFi information and signal strength to generate heatmaps. WiFi passwords are never requested or collected. WiFi measurements and any network information displayed in a project remain in local app storage and are not included in HeatFi's custom Firebase Analytics events.

5. Exported Files

When you export a heatmap or project data, including PNG, CSV, or KML files, the file is generated on your device and shared through the operating system's standard share interface. We do not receive the exported file. The app or service you choose as the destination will handle it under that service's own privacy policy.

6. Children's Privacy

HeatFi does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.

7. Third-Party Services

HeatFi uses the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform (Android) — provide native and rewarded ads and collect or store advertising consent choices. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized according to your consent, region, and settings. See Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob privacy information.
• Google Firebase Analytics (Android) — provides usage analytics after you grant the in-app analytics consent. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
• RevenueCat — manages HeatFi Pro entitlements and purchase validation on supported platforms. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription events, product and entitlement information, and an anonymous app user ID. It does not receive your floor plans, WiFi measurements, or project content from HeatFi. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play and Apple — distribute the app and process purchases through their respective billing systems. See Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.

8. Your Privacy Choices

• Analytics: You can decline anonymous usage measurement when asked and continue using HeatFi. On Android, you can later change this choice in HeatFi's Settings. Analytics collection remains disabled unless you grant consent.
• Advertising: Where required, Google presents an advertising consent message before ads are requested. You can revisit available choices through Advertising privacy choices in HeatFi's Settings. Your device settings may also let you reset or delete the advertising ID.
• Ad-free use: HeatFi Pro removes native and rewarded ads. Your analytics choice is separate from your subscription status.
• Permissions: You can change Location or Nearby WiFi permissions in your device settings.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Project data is stored locally on your device. You can delete it at any time by:

• Deleting individual projects within the app
• Clearing the app's data, where your operating system provides that option
• Deleting HeatFi from your device

Google, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google Play retain information they process according to their own retention policies and legal obligations. Some purchase records may need to be retained by the app store for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

10. Security

Your floor plans, scans, and project data remain in local app storage and are protected by your device's security features. We encourage you to keep your operating system and HeatFi up to date. Information sent to third-party providers is transmitted using encrypted connections and is protected under each provider's security practices.

11. International Transfers and Your Rights

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, subject to their contractual and legal safeguards. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, and to withdraw consent. To make a request relating to HeatFi, contact us using the address below. You may also manage provider-controlled information through your Google, Apple, device, or app-store settings.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of HeatFi after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
